It would be nice with some clear rules on which armies are allowed this time. All approved NetEA lists, but which Epic UK lists are allowed? Las year the Epic UK Squats was allowed since there is not an approved NetEA Squats list. Would this mean also Epic UK Space Marine Chapters (like Black Templars) are allowed when no NetEA equivalent is available? How about Death Guard, Ulthwe, Vanaheim and Iron Warriors? Maybe a detailed list with every allowed armylist could be useful, and also to clearly group them into “races” if this is a team restriction we want to reuse from previous years?

Also let’s say I have a cool idea for a Skitarii or Sister of Battle army (EpicUK only) and start buying and painting models. Then by the end of august the NetEA equivalent list is approved, and suddenly I can’t use the EpicUK list I built. I think we should say that no armylists will be removed from the allowed list after a certain date, adding is less problematic…

Hey Argol,

I think Dan clarified this at the start of the thread. The plan is, all approved netea lists will be legal. In addition, all epic uk lists where there is not a legal netea list will also be allowed (so Sisters of Battle, Squats, Black Templars, etc etc). I’m sure if you built a list based on epic UK lists and a netea list came out we’d either allow the list or put a lock on lists by a certain date.

The one thing Dan and I vaguely chatted about is whether to allow netea Krieg or replace them with the substantially less broken epic UK version. We’ll keep you guys posted on that one.

Another one there that might be worth considering is the E-UK Dark Eldar over the Net-EA one.

I'd agree on the Krieg front btw, that or just ban them...

You’d be more than welcome by us! There will be a renegades/UN team even if you can’t form a full national team

Thanks! ;) . My main problem is that I can't set my free days at work so many months in advance... But it would be an honour to be in that "renegade" team hahahaha

I would not mix UK and NetEA Marines lists. Some stats are different..

I think Dan's original post is spot on.

Net EA Kreig are broken and most UK players know this. However, I would suggest rather than making exceptions NetEA Kreig should be allowed.

If anyone wants to take them after that it's their choice. I would like to think that the best players won't take this easy option.

It'll be Net-EA lists and only Epic-UK lists where there isn't an approved Net-EA version. Only minor differences between the two anyway and those using each will know their own stats which is the most important thing.

Net-Ea Krieg list was even more broken in the past than the UK version but your criticism may well now be out date? The Net-EA Krieg got updated last Autumn and Gorgons are now 25 points more than in the UK list plus have a much worse critical (immobilised plus D6 units take a hit compared to D3). Other problems areas such as the Deathstrike Silo have also been toned down a lot too (DC3 > DC2 and loosing reinforced armour).

Bit OT but I much prefer the Net-EA Krieg list - not because of overall power levels between the two, but because a trench and artillery based Krieg list (which by the background is the way Krieg fights 90% of the time) is actually viable in the Net-EA version rather than signifigantly underpowered and ignored in the Epic-UK version.

There might be a problem with how it's written right now tho:

Quote:
Deathstrike Missiles: 2× MW2+,Ind,SS,TK(D6)

The way I read this, the Deathstrike Silo must fire both of its missiles at the same target, since it's the entire weapon that's single shot, not its ammo.

Quote:
2 x Deathstrike Missiles: MW2+,Ind,SS,TK(D6)

Had it been written like in the second example you would have 2 Single Shot Deathstrike Missiles which could be shot at two targets in two consecutive turns.

While this is probably a typo, RAW it's presently pretty useless.

I don’t think the deathstrike silo is even optimal in netea Krieg. I think I’m right in saying the track record of UK players at the EEC with netea Krieg is played 15 won 14. That suggests something’s not right.

I like the idea of Net EA Kreig being allowed but stronger teams/players voluntarily choosing not to use them.

For example, just like because Space Marine all air Thunderf*ck lists were allowed didn't mean they were an issue. Until Dan.

On the other hand, maybe Kreig will be come so popular maybe people will take tailored lists knowing that they are likely to face them.

Another point to this is that Krieg are so popular that the other versions of Guard are often forgotten about.

I think the fact that they are an order of magnitude more powerful than most other guard lists might have something to do with their increased popularity.....

For sure, but as I said above the Net-EA version got significantly downgraded last Autumn and is arguably less powerful than the Epic-UK version now. Prolific older game wins when the list was noticeably overpowered aren't necessarily applicable any more.
