has anybody used Secret Weapon miniature wash. They have one that is supposed to go on white primer and really make the miniatures pop. They come in different colours also.

i have some 6mm miniatures to paint and wanted to try this technique. If anybody has pictures of the result from using the wash please post.

thanks

I would be super intrested to hear about this product also , I have some space troopers that i would like to wash over over white primer to avoid a crazy long painting period !

When they say white primer , i take it that you could use the black wash and not fear of discolouring the white areas apart from the crevices...... ?

This would greatly aid painting my spacewars army ;D

Was going to say, that would be very useful for my Pre heresy world eaters if it does work like that.

At the moment I just use an Army Painter dark tone or badab black (which isn't too arduous - just give the wash, then a quick light drybrush of white over the top of that)

I believe Onyx used the Woodland Scenics tones, diluted heavily, for his washed. I don't remember him mentioning the SW stuff, but that could have been a more recent development.

On the SW washes, they're Lester Bursley mixes. He showed how he made them on a YouTube video. They contain ink, and even with the matte medium in the wash they still come out glossy. Not a huge deal if you're spraying a dullcote on after but something to be aware off. Also because they're ink, they're better for pin washes in my opinion (selectively hitting recessed areas) as they're more opaque, and less useful for tinting or filtering (as they'll darken the original paint quite a bit). You need to shake them a bunch, they separate in a matter of minutes.

No pics, I used them mostly on 28mm terrain for a local store.
