I guess the real gripe I have ^above^ is having had a blitz once taken by a lone deathstike launcher gunning for glory. Yeah it's allowed in the rules but man...that's just immersion breaking in the game.

I dunno, sometimes that sort of thing is brilliant. I just imagine the lone death strike truck driver crashing the truck into a vital comms array at the last minute. Mark W’s empty landa close assaulting my squat cyclops to capture my blitz in one of our games remains my all time favourite epic moment!

Hi Mort, currently any 3 game epic UK tournament can run 1 non-standard scenario (as Blip and IJW did last for Exeter last year). As such its unlikely that this will becoming full part of every tournament. Maybe you guys might want to try a similar route? That way your not locked into a specific alternate scenario?

Hello!

Yeah, the vote is to allow TO:s to use this scenario if they want to. If we can find any more alternative scenarios that seems balanced and fun we'll vote for them too probably. :-)

You guys have any other ones written down?

If you look on the thread for Exetereminatus tournie last year you’ll find Blip and IJW’s. That was good fun.

Is BTS available every round, i.e. by destroying the most expensive formation on the table that turn?

BTS can only be scored for the original BTS, and will only score in the round in which it's achieved.

Same a standard tournament scenario then, I might give it a go in the accumulator style too once I've got the hang of this alternative. It'd do over armies which linger off table for whatever reason!

If you fancy a go at it at some point let me know - happy to host, or we could sort a game in at the aldershot games store if you want.

In terms of scouts - it's worth remembering that they tend to be pretty fragile, so struggle late game compared to chunkier units, and also this scenario isn't meant to be played in isolation - a list needs to be effective on the standard grand scenario as well.

Lego - the point of larger DC war engines being able to capture multiple objectives is so that primarily armies like AMTL aren't hamstrung too much by their low activation count, and still have a chance of being reasonably competitive in it.

I can see the rational but in that case Yme-Loc is in the same predicament as they where before and so is any Eldar list with a chunky titan. A points cutoff would do the trick however and it would also open the scenario for a few of the potentially more esoteric choices out there. (Or for that matter close it)

I'm also not sure the Orks need the extra buff in that scenario. ;)
