So after a few delays due to real life getting in the way, the Knight World list has been stamped approved. The latest version from now on will always be up here:

http://tp.net-armageddon.org/

The changes from 2.2 are:

  • Custodian formation went to 375, adding a Custodian for +115

I'd like to thank my playtest punching bag team (organized alphabetically according to their height): DwarfSupreme, amerger87, CaptPiett, UberChris, Ruth, The Coach, robbypk, berzerkmonkey, Karl and gunslinger007. I'd also like to thank the playtest teams of PFE100, mordoten and Mard, as well as the previous developers: Carlos, Morgan Vening and Evil & Chaos.

Finally, the vote for this wasn't unanimous. To address the two concerns I've posted the 2015 playtest changes.

Hi Dave. Does this list have a different lineage from the one in the compendium? One is "house hyperion" and the other "house lakar". I'm updating my results tracker and am trying to figure out if these are just different version of the same list (i.e. 1.3 -> 2.2.1) with a rename in between, or different entirely.

Good to see this faction getting approved. Whilst it is somewhat different to the modern interpretation of the knights it does stay true to the older SM/TL era background.

Interesting to see how the discussion on knights went from AV to WE then to DC2 and how the shield concept has changed over time.

I've stolen some of the current work for our 30k Knight Crusade list but with different interpretations of shields/weapons etc that more closely align with current fluff. Still, having an "approved" list to base it against helps.

I'll be interested to see if this list or a similar list makes its way in the EpicUK tournament scene.

It was being playtested when I arrived at the club on thursday :) I think it's more loosely based on the netEA list and is currently very early days so may have significant changes

Knight Shield:
Power Lance and Shock Lance:
SPECIAL RULE
Knight Technology
Units with a Knight Shield may make a saving throw on a 4+ when
they are hit instead of using their armour value. No modifiers ever apply to this saving
throw and it is unaffected by macro-weapon, lance and titan killer hits. However, each
point of damage from a titan killer hit must be saved separately. If the unit has
reinforced armour as well then it is allowed to re-roll a failed save using its armour
value unless the hit was a macro-weapon, lance or titan killer. Finally, none of these
benefits apply to units in a crossfire or to hits from supporting fire.

If a Knight is hit by Macro shot, is the only save he gets to make the shield?
