KaJo,

Thanks for all your responses thus far!

One more - can you make drop ships that carry armoured vehicles? I can see how they are made to carry troops, but not sure if they can have tanks in them.

Thanks,
-Tim

Generally speaking, no. A dreadhought can be deployed via a drop pod but no other vehicles. To deploy these from space you'll need a landing craft or similar.

Yes. The back side of the game charts has a Troop/Transport Bay table, listing the number of troop bays necessary to transport a single element by type and/or size. This table may be cut short, depending on the version you own; if it is, Sig. -3 = 10, Sig. -4 = 12.

@KaJo,

Brilliant thanks! Mine does appear to be cut off - but then again I don't think we'll really be transporting too many "large" vehicles.

So on transport bays. How does the number of system points work with tech? They are 2 pts each and TL3, and explicitly says that they are lumped into being one system.

Say I have 2 bays - is this correct?:

TL3 - 4 system points
TL4 - 3 system points
TL5 - 2 system points
TL6 - 1 system point?

Troop bays aren't reduced in SP usage due to TL increases (looks like I missed that note when doing the SW files); multiple occurrences of troop/transport bays are considered one system for purposes of lading.

What about open transports, like Dropzone Commander-style dropships? I assume the rules in the Compendium are for enclosed transports where the contents are fully protected by the vehicle's armor/shields.
