Hey, I just realised I hadn't posted pics of the latest (and actually, last) addition to my Squat army, which is now officially finished. I went for bronze instead of gold or silver for the main gun of the Cyclops. I wanted to give a "ancient & lost technology" feel. http://i137.photob...

Hooray, my two Colossus (i? ses??) are done! :spin Well, almost done, I just need to add pigments on the second one. I wanted one of them "clean" for the pictures. http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q222/ashalan_wanderer/Squats/Colossus%201.jpg http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q222/ashal...

OK well, I'm still a bit slow but here a step-by-step "tutorial" for my Squats WE. This will help me maintain my motivation. :) First, two coats of Mechrite Red for a deep red base http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q222/ashalan_wanderer/Squats/Colossus%20WIP%201.jpg Red Gore http://i137.p...

Alright, so it's been 5 years (5 years !) since I updated this topic. Quite a long time, but lately I've decided to take up my brushes again. At least half of my paints have dried, so I've had to buy new ones. I bought a complete set of Scale75 paints, but I'll integrate them progressively while my ...

Nice report, Markconz!

Looks like the Marines were a bit overoptimistic and let the Tyranids get too close. :)

OK, thanks for the answers guys.

Looks like the rules aren't crystal clear on the subject, yet everybody seems to have interpreted them the same way. :)

I guess auto-breaking was thought to be harsh enough, without adding hackdowns as well. Yes, and I just understood why : no resolution means that there's no possibility for the attacker to win the assault, even with lucky dice rolls. Guess I should have thought this through before posting. :P Thank...

There's no assault roll-off because the attacker using the risky token assault must be broken. And if there's no roll-off, then there can't be any hackdowns. I don't want to be nitpicky (even though I'm just being that :) ), but losing formations are usually broken after resolution. When you initia...

Consider an Ork Warband with Boyz (B) and Kommandos (K) engaging formation A. After charge move, we have this situation (units are in base contact): A-A-A-A-A K---K--K-K A-A-A-A-A B------B ^ ^ ^ ^ = direction of the assault The defender scores 2 hits. How exactly should they be allocated? Section 1....

I understand, but in this case why is the attacker exempt from "hack down" casualties? As far as I know, this is the only situation when a losing formation does not suffer extra casualties, no matter how badly they lost the assault. Shouldn't the rule say "go straight to 1.12.7" ...

Section 1.12.5 of the rules says: If all of the units in the defending formation have been killed and at least one attacker survives, then the attacker wins and the assault is over (go straight to 1.12.8). If all of the attacking units directly engaged in the assault are killed then the assault has ...

I was thinking of starting a new thread to take stock of the current list's status, but this one seems appropriate. First a question to Chroma : I've seen you mentioning a "next version" in several recent threads now. You've got me interested there, any idea as to the release date? :) I th...

Well... I haven't updated my gallery in more than a year, but I haven't been totally idle. :) Big post, plenty of new pics. :D First, I've redone the stands of my Daemons (it used to be snow... but I've never found the courage to do snowy terrain, so they look weird on my usual jungle table). Slaane...

What did your opponent think about fighting the Bugs? Flogus has just moved to a new city (leaving me with no regular opponent :( ), so I'll answer for him until he settles in and find his way back to the forums. We've played several games with the 9.2.1 list and so far he hasn't voice any complain...

DEBRIEF For once I didn't lose with my 'nids, so that's one thing I'm happy about. :) The army performed well, but I think I could have done better if I had not deployed my Stealers so close to the eldar deployment zone... I should have used them as screens for my big formations. The same goes for ...
