Thanks Greg :-) And thanks to you and your collaborators for the booklet and the original scenario - it's great to have these resources, and the booklet is really nice. My friends and I will play some more scenarios from the booklet at some point. I'd love to see a tweaked version of the booklet if ...

Various improvements, PLUS a redux of the 'Ill Met by Moonlight' scenario that I call 'Ill Met by Fog Lights'. Enjoy!

Right, it's been a while and I've lost the thread a bit, but: I've drafted new text for the Sniper rule. Please see https://thehobby.zone/issue-tracker/617/fix-misinterpretation-in-sniper-ability-text/ Does anyone see any problem with this? Ideally, you'll chip in underneath the issue ticket, via th...

couldn’t a river run from one edge to an adjacent edge (i.e., diagonally across a corner), and thus be shorter than the short table edge? Yes, I agree indeed it could - I must've had a brain-fart when I made that comment on my way through the tangle. Ah well, this is part of what 'comments' are for...

Thanks chaps. I'll take another look at it when I get some time and take your points on board. At minimum I need to change the way I reworded the Sniper rule itself, as this is a rare instance in which I have inadvertently changed the meaning slightly in this little corner of the rules. I can see th...

Not quite. As Kyrt said above, Standard hit allocation starts from front to back, placing a hit on the next unit without a hit . If Sniper hits are allocated first to the front units, they merely displace ‘Standard’ hits to the next eligible unit. I really think this is needlessly over-complicating...

from what I understand... assume your'e shooting and you have made one sniper hit and one regular hit. There are only two units in range, both have a 6+ save but the front one is a character. Option 1. You choose to allocate sniper hits before regular hits. This allows you to put a sniper hit on (a...

if closest unit is a character with a 6+ save you might want to guarantee its death by allocating a sniper hit before regular allocation Not as I understand it. We seem to be saying that you can 'double up' Sniper hit allocations wherever you like, and normal hit allocation is independent of this. ...

Basically when someone reads a document they don't know what went in to writing it, and lack the context of this discussion to know that you have worked hard to stick to the official rules. I see what you mean, and I tried to cover this at https://thehobby.zone/resources/ea-rules-revamp/Content/Int...

As a compromise, could these suggestions be placed in a link to allow easy reference whilst removing them from being inline with the rules? In principle, yes that's a sensible option for a compromise solution — thanks for suggesting it. In practice, I don't like it because it'd still mean an artifi...

My thoughts on a few points that stand out to me: What I expected to fall out of the project was not a reinterpretation of the rule set, but a cleaning of language and an improved clarity to aid everybody in playing the same way. Of course, your expectations may not always be in line with my aims, s...

Let's cut each other a little slack - as Thinking Stone says, it is too easy to misunderstand each other in this medium. And he's not wrong that sometimes there is a little too much 'gatekeeping' - and sometimes a little too much 'I don't like it' without enough 'here's what I suggest instead, what ...

I think a companion document with such commentary would be great To me this seems like a strange wish. I mean, why take information away from the point of need and put it somewhere else that means you now have another document to switch back and forth with? Conceptually, what I'm doing is much like...

Considering that the author clearly stated that they were doing this for personal interest (and in the context of a local group), and that they were just putting it up on these boards because they thought people might simply be interested to see what they had done, I don’t think it’s meaningful to ...
